Online Dating Scams

The objective of this post is to make you aware of various scams that can occur when it comes to online dating. Online dating scams can occur and do occur and many people fall victim.

The reason you want to try online dating is to find a partner and the last thing you need is a broken heart. As you probably know many people can join an online dating site for free and many hide behind the internet to carry out their various tricks, as a result of which you may not really know the person behind the profile.

Communication is of the essence in every relationship. To set up your online communication I suggest creating a special e-mail account for this. Secondly use the communication tools that the dating sites provide.

Do not give out personal information at the start. Secondly check the profile and see if it is on any other dating sites, you can do this by performing a Google search.

This may bring up information relative to that profile as in somebody who previously dealt with this individual and had a bad experience.

Secondly if you find the communication is sporadic and general then avoid this person. The other factor is this, when the individual communicating with you becomes overzealous and little bit too friendly right from the beginning this can be a red flag.

Remember the objective of the scam artist is to build trust and the take advantage once that trust has been developed. Once this has taken place they begin to ask for favors and these favors can get you in trouble.

The rule of thumb is not to do people favors online, and more importantly you want to find a partner who can take care of themselves. If they need your money then something is up?

Which leads me to the next point, if they ask for your physical address to have something delivered, do not give it out! If you do, you may be the recipient of some stolen goods.

In terms of making phone communication if you get some crazy 1900 number do not call it. Men need to wary of prostitution, many professionals post profiles to get business. You need to also be aware that women on international websites can after developing trust start to request money.

When meeting somebody for the first time never have them pick you up and always meet in a public area that is populated.

All in all there are way more decent people out there who are genuinely searching for a partner online, all you need to do is be aware of the red flags and proceed with caution, more importantly as mentioned before take your time and you will be ok.

Online Dating Chat

Dating Guide No Comments »

When it comes to online Dating you want to have a good experience and the essence of any relationship is communication. So when it comes to online dating chat there a few things you can do to prevent against the opposite, which would be a bad experience.

When chatting with someone online, treat the communication as a face to face conversation, there is no need to be rude and if there is something you do not like then politely opt out of the conversation. Likewise if you find the person you are talking with to be vulgar and crude leave the conversation

Ask plenty of questions and the measure the answers you receive, if you find the other person to be controlling or over bearing once again politely opt out. There is no need to continue online communications if you are not comfortable.

During your chat if you are asked for personal information do not give it out. There will be plenty of time for that, the main goal right now is to get to know the other person and see if you both are compatible.

In early chats keep the conversation brief and relevant, the reason for this is simple, you want to see if they will come back for more. You could actually make a time to chat again and see if they keep their commitment.

The goal as always is to get a sense of the other person’s behavior, are they reliable and do they follow up? As you continue chatting you can then extend the conversations.

In terms of e-mail conversation I suggest using the online dating sites communication tools at first. I would also suggest setting up a free e-mail address specifically for your online dating correspondence. Then when the time is right you can give this out.

When you are dating online it may be wise to do an online dating background check. There are many ways you can do this by accessing public records. When involved in online communication do not be afraid to ask questions.

Once you receive the answers, then when it comes time to go to the next level you could do some research to see if everything matches up. Any scammer is going to create a web of deceit but if they first can convince you that they are trustworthy they are then banking on the fact that you will not question them.

If somebody has nothing to hide then they have nothing to fear and that is the way you ought to approach it. The last thing you want to do is delay this process or worse still find out by accident or by experience that this person was all the time taking you for a ride.

If you find this out later then it will be too late, your heart will be broken and the emotional pain will be significant. So to avoid this ask questions, measure the answers and then check if everything ads up. Sure it may be painful to find out that someone you are growing fond of is a fraud, but in the end you will be better off.

Dangers Of Internet Dating

Dating Guide No Comments »

As you know the name of this blog is worst online dating and the objective is discuss things that you should not do when it comes to internet dating, in other words the worse things you can do, but with that said its not all going to be negative.

As I am sure you are aware when you go to internet dating websites you’re really not going to see negative stories relative to peoples experience using that website, instead what you will see are the positive testimonials. Now I am not suggesting that these testimonials are false all I am saying is that you more than likely will not see negative testimonials.

The people you need to be concerned about when it comes to internet dating are those who are out to scam you. They are worst of the worst as they prey on people’s emotions.

The first thing you can do when you see a profile is check the name and Google search it to see if that same name appears on multiple sites at the same time or if there is any negative association relative to it.

This is also the case with the e-mails you get from people interested in you, search the title of the e-mail and see if it has come from somewhere before, or you may find a story of someone who was victimized using these types of e-mails.

Furthermore when you start communication if you are immediately asked for your e-mail address, do not give it out and proceed with caution. The point is this; do not give out any personal information immediately. Take your time!

In addition to this you can also set up a special e-mail address just for your dating correspondence.

You can opt for blind mailing or double blind mailing with only your first name. Use this correspondence until you feel more comfortable with whom you are connecting with. Remember to take your time, patience is of the essence.

One of the typical scams against men is those women who are running an international ad. The goal is to draw you in, get your defenses down and then start requesting some money. Again their goal is to play on your emotion, that is the name of the game in every avenue of online scams. So be aware of this fact.

There is also the question of whether the individual whom you are corresponding with is married or not, if there is no picture posted this can be a telltale sign, that along with erratic communication, vagueness and generalities can be telling.

In conclusion, take you time and you will better enjoy your online dating experience.

Online Dating Personal Ads

Dating Guide No Comments »

These are basically snippets of information where you present yourself. Like any other ad the motive is to create interest. You want those who are viewing your ad to seek out more information.

That is not to say that your online personal add should be over the top and as mentioned previously, you do not want it to contain misrepresenting images of you - nor do you want to tell lies.

When it comes to creating your ad think headline, this is the first piece of information that represents your ad and this is what most people read before they read any further. In actual fact if you have a poor headline then they will not read any further.

Look at the headline on this post, pretty boring right? So what if you changed it to, “How to create the “wow” Factor in your personal profile in 3 simple steps”

In terms of the headline it should be brief, relevant and provocative. Brief in that you don’t want to over do it, relevant in terms of details that make sense and provocative speaks for itself.

Nobody is really interested in boring people, sure we may sympathize but it does not drive interest.

There is no question that photos help and generate more responses, I know there is a superficial element to this, however, your main goal is to get responses so as give you more choices to find your soul mate.

In terms of the ad, do not use long sentences with long paragraphs, break it up and use sub headlines this will keep your reader engaged and in a better position to find out what interests them about you.

The more pleasant your ad is on the eye the more responses you will get. In actual fact now that I think of it I should use the word profile, or online profile rather than ad.

Of course last for not least, many would tell you, “to simply be yourself” and that’s fair enough, but just make sure that your profile is easy to read and easy to navigate and just like bland food, a little spice never does any harm.
